IWAS Administrative Account - Setup

Back to FAQ

Why do I not see a place to enter my access code?

You probably did not type the whole web address or typed it in incorrectly. Verify the web address is typed in exactly as it is on the ISBE letter. The letter 's' is commonly left off after the http in the web address.

Why do I need to set up an administrative account?

The administrative account holds the authority to approve user signups, approve documents to be sent on to ISBE and also allows immediate access to any web application that requires authentication and authorization. It is a key component in doing e-business with the State Board of Education.

I already setup a valid IWAS account, why did I receive a notice?

Although you may have setup a valid IWAS account, it may not be your administrative account. Please go to the website address listed in the ISBE letter and enter the access to code to see, if you have already setup your administrative account. If you already have an account you will see a message to that effect, otherwise you need to setup your administrative account because the account you already have in IWAS may be a general access account that lacks the authority to approve user signups, approve documents to be submitted to ISBE and gain immediate access to web applications not requiring ISBE signup approval.

Why do I keep receiving an invalid access code error message when trying to setup my administrative account?

You may not have entered your Access Code correctly. Enter the code exactly as you see it with hyphens. Pay special attention to the letter O and number 0 as well as the letter I and number 1. These characters sometimes get mistaken for each other.
