Out-of-Field Teachers

The table below represents the percentage of teachers defined as “out-of-field” – a teacher teaching in a grade or content area for which he or she does not hold the appropriate state-issued license, endorsement, approvals, or previous qualifications. The display summarizes the rate within this district and across the state and highlights the rates across all high-poverty and low-poverty schools in the district (as applicable.) Learn More 

 

Teachers are defined as “out-of-field” if they are teaching in a grade or content area for which he or she does not hold the appropriate state-issued license, endorsement, approvals, or previous qualifications.

High-poverty schools in Illinois are defined as schools where the percentage of “low-income” Fall Student Enrollment ranks at or above the 75th percentile.

Low-poverty schools in Illinois are defined as schools in which the percentage of “low-income” Fall Student Enrollment ranks below the 25th percentile.

2023 is the initial year for reporting data on Out-of-Field Teachers on the Illinois Report Card; no historical data from previous years is available.
